Nepales celebrates the actors, directors, and behind-the-scenes artists with Filipino roots who conquered the world’s most competitive film industry. Drawing on years of interviews and red-carpet encounters, Nepales tells how they broke through, stayed grounded, and kept their cultural identity where representation is hard-won.
The Philippine Daily Inquirer’s longtime Hollywood correspondent profiles established names and rising talents alike — and spotlights the craftspeople behind the camera, the artists whose names you may not know but whose work you have seen. More than a collection of profiles, this is a story about pride: Filipino creativity, warmth, and resilience, on screen and off.
For film fans, Filipino readers, and anyone who loves stories of talent triumphing against the odds — an insider’s guided tour of Hollywood through Filipino eyes.
