The Life and Times of Wally Carlson

Description

An ordinary life, honestly told — and anything but ordinary. Wally Carlson grew up on the streets of Chicago in the late 1930s and lived all the way through 2010, witnessing a century of change. The Life and Times of Wally Carlson is his intimate memoir, written in his own voice, from Depression-era boyhood to a long career as an Illinois Licensed Architect specializing in religious building design.

But this is far more than a career story. It is a personal journey through family, friendship, faith, and work: the adventures and misadventures of a Chicago boyhood, the milestones of designing places of worship, and the lessons learned along the way. Candid, warm, and full of character, it reads as a window into twentieth-century America as seen by someone who lived it to the fullest.

Perfect for memoir lovers, Chicagoans, and anyone who believes that an ordinary life, honestly told, is anything but ordinary.
