Description
A luminous memoir of family, aging, and social change. Subject to Change by Renee Rodin — writer, visual artist, and cultural worker, long a beloved figure in Vancouver’s literary community — blends poetry and prose to capture the shifting landscapes of identity and transformation.
In this intimate collection of autobiographical stories, Rodin weaves memory and reflection into a meditation on what it means to grow older, to belong, and to keep changing in a changing world. With crystalline language that is by turns fragile, funny, and fierce, she translates the messiness of lived experience into moments of startling clarity.
Warm, wise, and quietly radical — a book for anyone navigating the beautiful uncertainties of Rodin’s Vancouver literary world — the readings, the friendships, the activism — gives these stories their warm particularity. A memoir in the truest sense: For anyone navigating change — proof that a life need not be tidy to be beautiful. fragmentary, honest, and luminous. a life still becoming.
