Description
Over 400 characters, every one brimming with personality. Sketchboy is a joyful compendium of character artwork by children’s artist and author Randy Briley of Raven Mad Studios — goofy monsters, quirky creatures, and lovable oddballs rendered in pen and ink, digital painting, sculpture, and watercolor. Briley proves that character design is an art form unto itself, and that a sketchbook can be a finished work worthy of publication.
From rough, energetic doodles to polished, gallery-worthy pieces, these drawings open a window into how a working artist thinks, plays, and invents. His sense of humor and love of the craft shine through every page — the kind of book that makes you smile, then makes you want to grab a pencil.
A treat for character designers, illustrators, cartoonists, animation students, and anyone who doodles in the margins. These characters will put a smile on faces young and old.
