Iwao Takamoto, an American animator and designer, worked primarily for Hanna-Barbera. He created several iconic characters, most famously Scooby-Doo. Takamoto also designed Penelope Pitstop and the Great Grape Ape. His distinctive style shaped a generation of animated television.
