Ada Louise Huxtable (1921–2013) was a prominent American architectural critic and author. She effectively established architecture and urban design journalism in North America. Huxtable raised public awareness regarding the urban environment. Furthermore, she championed historic preservation. She actively drove the 1965 founding of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
